The overarching goal of supervised contact is to maintain and foster positive relationships between children and their non-resident family members whilst ensuring the safety and welfare of the child.
The supervisor ensures that contact visits are conducted safely and appropriately, often in a neutral location. Moreover, they may intervene if necessary to address any issues that arise during the visit.
Our weekend and weekday children’s contact services will assist you if there are concerns about the safety or well-being of your child during contact with the non-resident parent. Additionally, our services are available when disputes could potentially escalate during visits.
The role of the Supervisor is pivotal in safeguarding the well-being of your child while simultaneously fostering positive relationships with any non-resident parent or family members.
Ensuring children are kept safe and their emotional well-being is safeguarded during contact with family members who have been assessed as posing a level of risk to them.
Helping to foster positive relationships between a child and their non-resident family members. promoting continuity and stability in their lives despite challenging circumstances.
Supervisors assess the quality of parenting observed during the supervised contact and use this evidence to complete reports as required by the court or principal social worker.
Parents are supported practically and emotionally to make supervised contact sessions a positive experience.
Supervisors offer an opportunity for parents or family members to work through conflicts or disputes in a controlled setting.
Harmful or abusive contact is recognised, and reported and steps are taken to reduce or remove any such harm or abuse.
